Tsuge: Shiki Fuyu Dark Smooth

Tsuge's Shiki series commemorates each of the four seasons by presenting a unique shape that corresponds to each individual season. Fuyu translates to "winter" in English and is here represented by plump, curvaceous bent Apple with the bowl displaying a hint of forward cant in profile. Its short length enables it to be slipped into a pocket with ease while still offering a respectably roomy chamber. The chubby bowl wears its waistline low, gradually tapering from its bulging flanks toward the rim and offers a delightfully natural feel in hand. A warm, chestnut stain adorns the stummel, highlighting all the grain that wraps around the bowl.
