A rather Scoop-like interpretation of the classic bent Egg shape, this piece from Tsuge showcases the Japanese marque's penchant for utilizing bamboo, a material seen here extending the trim, slightly upturned shank. Flanked by twin bands of black acrylic, the single knuckle is paired to a smartly downturned saddle stem of the same material as the bands, offering a comfortable smoking posture. The transition is wide enough to drape a thumb over, and leads into the bowl which rests atop a sweeping heel, building the fore wall with an appreciable curvature that ensures a pleasant feel in hand. The briar here is draped in a dark, earthy sandblast that unveils handsome grain throughout, its hues contrasted sharply by the pale grass extending the shank.
