Tsuge: Sandblasted Bent Dublin with Bamboo (9mm) (362) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-099-10028
Japanese marque Tsuge was founded in 1936 by Kyoichiro Tsuge, carving mainly ivory cigarette holders until, at the start of World War 2, Kyoichiro was sent to fight. The unobtainable nature of ivory after the war found him transitioning to pipe making, growing the company into the largest pipe company in all of Japan. Tsuge's Bamboo series showcases the brand's skill in fitting their pipes with the dense grass, creating a line of briars with plenty of organic charm for the eyes and fingers to appreciate. The shapes the bamboo is fitted to can vary from classic Anglo-French designs to those that are distinctly Japanese, stylized by Tsuge to reflect their heritage and offer even more naturalistic charm. This particular piece is a plump bent Dublin that's received a single knuckle of bamboo and has been dressed in a crisp, earthy sandblast.-John McElheny
