Tsuge: Urushi Aizue Billiard Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-099-10107
Translating to "lacquer picture," Urushi is an old Japanese art form with a history dating back over 9,000 years. To create a Urushi piece, several pigments are mixed with a translucent lacquer and then carefully applied to a porous material like briar. After curing for an indefinite period of time, designs are then applied to the Urushi, which is itself a time-consuming and arduous process, with some renderings taking upward of a year to achieve. Here, we find the beautiful artistry applied to an elegant Billiard from Tsugue, one that's perfectly ready for both dress and formal occasions.
