In the 1960s, Tsuge sent several craftsman to Denmark to learn from Danish artisans. While much of that expertise is best displayed in Tsuge's handmade Ikebana pipes, their standard fare also benefits from Danish design influence, providing a portfolio that includes classic Anglo-French shapes as well as distinctly Danish renditions. This "943" bent Dublin is one such Danish design: It combines a dynamic, forward-surging gesture with a gentle, Horn-like transition for a smooth-lined and elegant profile, the shank's flanking ridgelines providing a touch of structure that complements the rim's crown of craggy plateau. It's presented here in the Mizki line's stunning sandblast, highlighting the briar's natural grain in a conservative stain and with beautifully concise texture.
