Tsuge: Smooth Metal Black Blowfish (9mm) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-099-11091
Japanese marque Tsuge was founded in 1936 by Kyoichiro Tsuge, carving mainly ivory cigarette holders. After World War II, Kyoichiro transitioned to pipe making, growing the brand into the largest pipe company in all of Japan. As striking as Tsuge's Metal and Thunderstorm series designs are, this compact Art Deco interpretation of the Blowfish is one of the brand's more intriguing pieces. An impressively compact design, this piece would be extremely well-suited to a pocket pipe role, being short, handy, and possessing a reserved chamber. Despite its reserved dimensions, this Tsuge boasts plenty of substance to its briar, all in a shape that sits very stably, and the stummel has been clad in metal on both flanks for added reinforcement. A Don-style military mount replaces the shank here, making for easy disassembly and stably mounting a sleek, black acrylic stem.
