Merging elements of the Cherrywood and Rhodesian shapes, Vauen's "435" is a striking, yet highly practical design. Its flattened base enables it to sit stably on desk tops while the high-kicking shank and gently downturned stem allow it to be utilized as a comfortable jaw hanger. The bowl forgoes the Rhodesian's signature beadlines in favor of a subtle ridgeline underneath the subtly tapered rim and conforms quite conveniently to wrapped fingers. It's seen here wearing a light-depth rustication with bands of smooth briar along the rim and shank present to provide a hint of contrast.
