Vauen: Rubin (1473) (9mm) Tobacco Pipe

Boasting a tall, supple bowl with cheeking at the transition, this "1473" bent Egg from Vauen sees that bowl paired to an under-curved, sweeping shank and lightly downturned stem, the bowl's low mass, general voluptuousness and the shank's gestural bend reminiscent of the Danish style of shaping. Seamless and sinuous, this Rubin (German for ruby) piece is finished in a smooth, ruby stain, much like the Bruyere finish of the old English marques. Further commending this piece is a trim, metallic band along the jet-black stem, lending an elegant disposition.
