Vauen: Six (505) (6mm) Tobacco Pipe

German marque Vauen has been fitting nearly all of its pipes with 9mm filters since 1968 after introducing the Dr. Perl Junior filter in 1934, forever changing the pipe world and shaping the sensibilities of German pipe smokers for nearly the next hundred years. In 2021, Vauen introduced the Dr. Perl Junior filter in 6mm, and with it comes the Six series of pipes, whose lines are built around the inclusion of this filter, allowing for a slenderer, more gracile profile due to its thinner shank. The result is this "505," a lithe, sleek take on the Rhodesian, an otherwise muscular, thick shape, especially with regards to Vauen's more hearty interpretations of most shapes. The shank-and-stem combination are lengthy and straight, holding aloft a bowl with a more bulbous body than most other Rhodesian renditions meeting dual beadlines at the apex of its flare, tapering sharply to the rim, with a poised forward cant giving it a noble stature. Dressed in a black sandblast that matches its length of jet black tapered stem, this pipe exudes an elegant, classy aesthetic.
