Vauen: Curve Smooth (135) (9mm) Tobacco Pipe

This peculiar Rhodesian shape is a part of Vauen's Curve series, one in which the German marque showcases some of their most striking, exciting designs and, if I do say so myself, this "135" is one of my favorites of the bunch. Featuring a great deal of gesture and forward momentum, the bowl sweeps out from a parabolic transition, pushing itself into prominence, despite how squat it is compared to the shank and stem. Additionally, it features a flat underside, allowing for easy sitting, and it is this feature that allows the pipe to best display its eye-catching verticality, with the bulging shank and stem thrown skyward, assuming a poised, sculptural look that not only allows for comfortable smoking, but makes this a truly handsome desk pipe. The smooth stain dressing the stummel reveals some handsome grain all around, and its warm auburn tones keep the palette classic, though vivid.
