Vauen: Kira Smooth (106) (9mm) Tobacco Pipe

A clever paneled design, this "06" from Vauen is a bent Billiard with built-in intrigue and personality. The bowl is round and bulbous at the base but graduates into a six-sided paneled shape as it rises to the rim for quite a unique effect. An upturned shank pairs with a downturned tapered stem of black acrylic to display a sinuous S-curve in profile. The sleek shape works in concert with the brilliant Kira finish to present a pipe that glides like glass but shines like the sun.

The word kira means "ray of sunshine" in Sanskrit, and that is exactly what is reflected in the high contrast stain of Vauen's Kira line. The German marque deliberately chose two very different black and yellow colors for the finish, an approach intended to bring out striations of grain with the brilliance of rays of light. A brushed ring of bronze and silver hues adorns the shank end, further elevating the piece and completing a bright, shining aesthetic.
