Vauen: Kira Smooth (130) (9mm) Tobacco Pipe

This "30" from Vauen is a Cherrywood with some attitude, boasting an upright bowl with an inflated rim and flattened heel for stable sitting. The shank lifts slightly as it stretches toward a shimmering band and lightly downturned jet-black saddle stem. The high contrast of the Kira finish does well to bring out excellent patterns in the grain, making this pipe explode with color and personality.

The word kira means "ray of sunshine" in Sanskrit, and that is exactly what is reflected in the high contrast stain of Vauen's Kira line. The German marque deliberately chose two very different black and yellow colors for the finish, an approach intended to bring out striations of grain with the brilliance of rays of light. A brushed ring of bronze and silver hues adorns the shank end, further elevating the piece and completing a bright, shining aesthetic.
