Rubin is German for "ruby," which, as you might guess, refers to the glossy, red stain of the stummel. This "1415" from Vauen offers a muscular shank rising in Author-like stance to the tapered stem, but highlighted by a bright metal fitment. The waistline is low on the bowl, and the undercurve follows the lines of the shank up to that waistline, then tapers toward the rim. An elegant and attractive submission from the German company, this Vauen is worthy of any and every rotation.
