Vauen: Clover (1973) (9mm) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-457-6887
Vauen's roots date to 1848 when Karl Ellenberger and Carl August Zeiner founded Germany's first pipe factory. Near the turn of the century, they merged with Gebhard Ott to form Vereinigten Pfeifenfabriken Nürnber, "Nuremberg United Pipe Factories," phonetically rendering the VPFN abbreviation "Vauen." Since then, the German marque has gained a loyal following of pipe smokers, especially those who appreciated 9mm filters. The Clover series is an aptly named line: Distinguished by "19" in the shape code, it features pipes dressed in a deep, emerald stain, much like Vauen's Ambrosi series. The smooth finish offers a comfortable matte texture and is hand-waxed by the marque's seasoned craftsman. Unlike the Ambrosi series, which features a colorful acrylic accent, the Clover line offers an elegant motif with a chic metal band, presented here on this "73" bent Egg.
