If it wasn't obvious from its name ("Lesepfeife" is German for "reading pipe"), this piece from Vauen is a long and elegantly bent Churchwarden. A plump, Apple-like bowl stands at the fore of the composition, while a shank curls upward and marries a willowy tapered stem of jet-black acrylic out back. The protracted length of the mouthpiece should keep the bowl's smoke far from the eyes, allowing for greater focus on a good book. An auburn-hued sandblast dresses the stummel and brings vivid definition to the briar, while a metallic band around the shank end provides a dose of flash to the overall composition.
