With roots dating to 1848, Vauen is Germany's oldest and most storied pipe making marque, and they boast a number of innovations, most notably the development of the first 9mm filter. The company's Sina series presents a stunning finish that pairs a matte-black stummel with a jet-black saddle stem whose base has been fitted with a striking ring of swirling blue vulcanite. Each fitment has been hand-cut and hand-turned to ensure an ideal fit, with each and every accent being unique to each individual stem. The elegant aesthetic is presented here on the marque's "8031" straight Apple, its plump and robust bowl offering comfort in the hand while the svelte shank and stem keep the focus on the bowl itself, though the finish's ring makes sure that the visual weight is well balanced
