Vauen: Karat (434) (9mm) Tobacco Pipe

With roots dating to 1848, Vauen is Germany's longest running pipe manufacturer. Vauen is also the originator of the Dr. Perl activated carbon filter, which quickly became a standard feature on all of their pipes. Vauen's Karat series is characterized by its detailed, striated rustication, which is created by a special diamond tool and results in a rugged finish that resembles tree bark. The distinctive finish is found here on this poised "434" bent Billiard, with smooth briar along the rim and stem providing textural contrast and matching beadlines underneath each area to create slight gaps to further emphasize the juxtaposition.
