Vauen: Six (1104) (9mm) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-457-8223
Throughout the majority of Vauen's profile there is a running theme of muscular, thickly built shanks, if not whole pipes, owing much to their use of the innovative Dr. Perl activated charcoal filters which they introduced to the pipe world in 1934, standardizing their use among the pipes they offer in 1968. These 9mm filters have been the singular filter used by the company for nigh on 100 years, that is, until 2021, when they introduced the 6mm version along with accompanying pipes in the Six series, such as this svelte "104" Billiard. With a hearty bowl balanced on the end of a lithe shank-and-stem combination, this pipe is imbued with a gracile demeanor and light weight that ensures its presence in hand is felt, but not overbearing. Wearing a glossy stain of deep auburn that reveals a handsome grain structure, the stummel contrasts with the stem's jet black to imbue the piece with an elegant demeanor and a classic look to transcend generations.-John McElheny
