Werner Mummert: Sandblasted Ukelele with Horn Stem Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-560-0160
Perhaps on the subdued side of things, from what we usually think of when it comes to Mummert's work, this Ukelele is a sleek number. With crisp edges to its shank and rim, as well as an abbreviated length, it stands apart from his Eskimo renditions — instead, it offers a nosewarmer-like compact form, with plenty of comfortable breadth in its mouthpiece and shank, as well as a fairly generous chamber. Mummert's gone for an all-dark palette on this one, with a jet-black sandblast offering some stimulating texture, as well as a well-chosen horn mouthpiece - which maintains the dark palette splendidly, while also offering some fine, subtle patterns on its surface.
