This particular piece is standout in its sheer simplicity — where Mummert often finishes these Bulldogs in more striking, vibrant finishes, or crafts them from oak church beams, this piece is as understated as I have ever seen. Simple briar is dressed in a light, natural stain, and paired to a jet-black stem, putting emphasis on the form's excellent execution.
