Werner Mummert: Smooth Reverse Calabash Poker

Product Number: 002-560-0192

Werner Mummert is known for his unusual shapes and unique use of materials, which makes this reverse Calabash at once an unusual piece, while also being par for the course amongst Mummert's work. The towering briar bowl is fairly classical in and of itself, paired to a tempered glass shank with all of the breadth one would expect from a reverse Calabash shape. Indeed, it's this element that is the most interesting, the material specifically chosen for its heat-resistant and neutral qualities, ensuring it won't impart an odor or flavor, and should be a breeze to keep clean. It's joined to the stem by an insulated cap, as well, to ensure that none of that heat reaches the stem and to provide an extra touch of whimsy in its wine cork-like appearance.
