Werner Mummert: Sandblasted Deco Reverse Calabash Barrel Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-560-0204
Along with his sharp-lined Bulldog renditions, the Barrel is another one of Werner Mummert's signature shapes. Aptly named, this design resembles a cigar, albeit one of massive ring gauge, while still featuring a pipe's chamber, airway, and stem. We've seen numerous iterations of this shape from the ultra-creative German artisan, dressed in various finishes and imbued with reverse Calabash engineering — the "shank" section closest to the stem being carved with an internal cooling chamber. This particular one features yet another signature of Mummert's — the Deco finish, an homage to the Art Deco movement which prioritized modernity and luxury by combining expert craftsmanship with lavish materials. It presents a technicolor palette of swirling hues across the entire piece and is a quintessential example of Mummert's work, combining one of his signature shapes with his signature finish.
