Werner Mummert: Sandblasted Reverse Calabash Barrel Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-560-0215
Werner Mummert's aesthetic is one which continuously engages the viewer, always pushing the boundaries of what we might expect a pipe to look like and his minimalist Barrel design does just that. Its silhouette is highly reminiscent of a massive cigar but still maintains the chamber, airway, and stem of a traditional pipe. As a reverse Calabash, the "shank" section closest to the stem has been hollowed out, acting as an internal cooling chamber and serving to provide a drier smoking experience. This particular piece has been finished in a low-profile, dark walnut sandblast, with a lighter-hued removable cap affixed to the saddle stem at the shank end. If you're drawn to minimalist, avant-garde designs that reflect an artisan's meticulous eye for detail and expert engineering, this Barrel is certainly worthy of consideration.
