Werner Mummert: Rusticated Reverse Calabash Poker Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-560-0286
Werner Mummert is a German artisan with a penchant for fashioning creative, avant-garde pipes that are unlike anything else being fashioned in the medium, with this unique reverse Calabash Poker being a perfect example of his style. One of Mummert's signature shapes, this piece features a stout, cylindrical bowl with a flattened heel, as is typical for a Poker shape, but where it gets interesting is along the shank, which is composed of tempered glass. The glass shank houses a reverse Calabash chamber that promotes a cooler, drier smoking experience as it collects excess moisture. A briar cap that matches the bowl is held to the shank end by metallic springs on either flank of the pipe for an eclectic, Steam Punk-like appearance. Topped off by a saddle stem of jet-black vulcanite, this piece wears a stunning rustication that offers a texture akin to corroded metal and an industrial aesthetic. For those who are looking for an eye-catching design that's sure to start a conversation, you'd be hard pressed to find anything more appropriate than this piece.
