Werner Mummert: Sandblasted Reverse Calabash Barrel with Boxwood Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-560-0299

Known for imaginative, eclectic designs that not only catch the eye but are superior smoking instruments, Werner Mummert crafts pieces that definitely generate conversations. It's quite a testament to the German carver's skill and innovative reckoning that he's able to come up with these unique, highly functional pieces. This Barrel shape is one of the artisan's signature designs, its stout, cylindrical form housing the concave-rimmed chamber at one end near the flattened base. The reverse Calabash system is nearest the stem, the "shank" hollowed out and serving as a cooling pocket of sorts that allows for a drier, cool smoke. Topped by a removable cap of pale boxwood that's then set to a slender, vulcanite saddle stem, this alluring piece of minimalist, modern artistry is finished in a grain-defining, dark sandblast, offering infinite character and charm.
