Werner Mummert: Sandblasted Reverse Calabash Deco Barrel Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-560-0317
German artisan Werner Mummert is known for pushing the boundaries of pipe making to their limit. His architectural, avant-garde, Bauhaus-inspired pipes are highly regarded for their originality and expert engineering, and perhaps no shape better exemplifies the carver's style than his signature Barrel design. Deceptively simple in appearance, the Barrel consists of a neatly cylindrical bowl with no clear delineation between bowl and shank. The shape's silhouette brings to mind a massive cigar, but it still retains the chamber, airway, and stem of a traditional pipe. This particular rendition of the shape features a reverse Calabash chamber in the aft side of the briar that collects excess moisture and ensures a cooler, drier smoking experience. It's stylishly presented in Mummert's vibrant, eye-catching Deco finish, which cloaks the briar stummel in a technicolor wash of hues.
