Werner Mummert: Partially Sandblasted Poker Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-560-0347
The Poker is a shape that German artisan Werner Mummert returns to with some frequency, but his interpretations vary wildly in appearance and design. This particular rendition is a bit more reserved, employing clean geometric lines in place of his much heralded glass shanks or rippling panels. The bowl is a near-cylindrical shape, subtly angled to create a forward cant that lends stylish momentum to this design. An extended round shank brings up the rear, fitted with a green vulcanite saddle stem that promotes easy clenching. Thanks to its flat heel, this piece sits sturdily upright, making it fine choice for those in search of a distinguished desk pipe. Dressed in one of Mummert's extra craggy sandblasts, the stummel boasts impeccably textured ring grain stacked tightly up to the bowl's smooth rim, flecked with birdseye, all left in a honey-blonde natural finish.
