Werner Mummert: Sandblasted Reverse Calabash Poker Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-560-0366
Known for his inventive approach to pipe making and one-of-a-kind designs, Werner Mummert once again flexes his creative muscles with this Reverse Calabash Poker. The bowl itself is quite classic — a cylindrical Poker bowl in a natural finish, pitched forward for a dose of forward-urging visual momentum despite the form's robust proportions. At the shank is where things get particularly interesting: Made of tempered glass, the shank functions as a see-through reverse-Calabash chamber, enabling onlookers to enjoy the smoke swirling inside. The glass is extremely sturdy and heat resistant and flavor neutral, so there's no need to worry about it imparting aroma and flavor. To make cleaning a breeze, Mummert has fitted an insulated, removable cap on the end (to which the abbreviated mouthpiece connects) as well as rubber gaskets enabling removal from the bowl, making this a piece that's as practical as it is whimsical.-Truett Smith
