Werner Mummert: Sandblasted Reverse Calabash Poker Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-560-0441
Known for his eclectic designs and boundary pushing craftsmanship, German carver Werner Mummert fashions some truly striking pipes that blend sophisticated engineering with vibrant aesthetics. This reverse Calabash Poker is one of Mummert's signature shapes, and it perfectly exemplifies his creativity and Bauhaus sensibilities. It features a tall cylindrical bowl that rises from a flat, sure-sitting heel and flares ever-so-slightly to a softly inflated rim. Out back, the abbreviated shank is extended by a reverse Calabash chamber of tempered glass. The reverse Calabash chamber will collect excess moisture and ensure a cooler, drier smoking experience. The chamber is then topped by a slender saddle stem of jet-black vulcanite, which should rest quite comfortably between the teeth. An extra-craggy sandblast dresses the stummel and coaxes out cascading growth rings across the bowl's flanks, providing plenty of tactile and visual appeal.
