Werner Mummert: Sandblasted Brandy Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-560-0447
It's easy to see the inspiration behind most of Werner Mummert's pipes. The German artisan is often seen taking elements of modern art and architecture and creating a one-of-a-kind pipe through them. His portfolio is vast and eccentric, showcasing whimsical pipes similar to this Brandy. While more classic interpretations of this shape may be bowl-centric, this piece is the opposite, with the visual weight drawn to the aft. Up front, the bowl is traditionally inclined, with walls tapering inward to the rim from a full-bodied heel. It's the shank and stem that automatically grab the attention, with the former's topside informed by a singular ridgeline as it dramatically flares to the mouthpiece. It's met by the equally broad shoulders of a vulcanite saddle stem, one accent with multicolored swirling hues at its base. The light stummel is finished in Mummert's signature tanblast, displaying impeccable growth rings throughout the bowl and shank.
