Winslow: 50th Anniversary Smooth with Silver (042)

Product Number: 002-036-1825

Poul Winslow began his pipemaking career at the age of 17 working for Preben Holm who made famous the Danish Fancy style of pipe design. That was 50 years ago — five decades that Winslow has been involved in carving pipes. This silver-banded Horn piece commemorates the significant milestone. It fits into the more traditional end of the Danish carver's shaping style, devoid of any Freehand flourishes and, instead, defined by a sinuous flow, undulating rim, and flashy accent of creamy acrylic and sterling silver. Stamped "1969" and "2019," each pipe is a worthy homage to Poul's involvement in the industry and a beautiful representation of his skills as a carver, here dressed in a vibrant, red-tinged contrast stain.
