Poul Winslow's personal style tends to fuse standard pipe design with the more flourishing Danish Fancy aesthetic, imbuing his renditions of classic shapes with a striking, elegant, and singular disposition. For his 2019 Pipe of the Year, the Danish artisan presents this Cherrywood shape. It sits sturdily upright, and the bowl is comprised of eight crisp panels, delighting the palm and adding a touch of added structure. This rigidity is contrasted, then, by the fluidity of the shank and stem flowing lithely behind. Dressed in one of Poul's smoky contrast stains, it's accented with sterling silver, making this piece the perfect celebration of 2019, which also coincides with Winslow's 50th year as a pipemaker.
