Winslow: Smooth Bent Pot with Silver (A) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-036-2344

Poul Winslow began carving pipes for Preben Holm in 1969, and by the time he was 22 was Preben's lead assistant, already leaping ahead of 45 other pipe makers. Now, with over five decades of experience going into Poul Winslow pipes, it should be no surprise how striking this bent Pot rendition is, with a prominent wrapping ridgeline around the heel, an undulating rim of natural plateau, and a wealth of bespoke details that capture the eye and imagination. A smooth finish accentuates some really nice flame grain around the bowl, and its muscular, tapered shank directs my eye unerringly toward an intricately tooled band of silver. Even the stem displays an artistic penchant, with rippling rings at the base before transitioning to a smoothly downturned saddle configuration.
