Winslow: Smooth Apple with Silver (D) Tobacco Pipe

One of Poul Winslow's more conservative designs, this Apple features a softly rounded bowl with a lightly inflated rim that dramatically favors the aft over the fore. The slanted rim combines with the subtle lift of the heel to lend the bowl a forward-ebbing momentum, offset in profile by an arrow-straight shank-and-stem combination. This piece wears a handsome, warm contrast stain that accentuates the wind-swept flame grain across the flanks of the bowl and whorls of birdseye across the rim. The jet-black color of the tapered acrylic mouthpiece and the ornate band of sterling silver at the shank end add further visual appeal to the pipe's overall design. Lightweight and offering a conformable in-hand fit, this charming bit of Danish craftsmanship offers plenty of refined shaping and elegant aesthetics to entice any collector.
