Winslow: Smooth Bent Dublin with Silver (D) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-036-2349
A charming rendition of the Dublin shape from Poul Winslow, this piece features a flared, softly inflated rim that rises to a cusp at the aft of the bowl. This raised point lends the piece a sense of dynamism in profile, with the lifted heel providing the bowl with a gestural poise that's counterbalanced by the rim's dramatic favoring of the aft. The shank extends from the tidy, low-slung transition and balances with the proportions of the bowl before giving way to a saddle stem of jet-black acrylic. The mouthpiece makes the subtlest of downturns, its dark color perfectly complementing the rich, vibrant smooth finish that dresses the stummel. The stummel wears a tan and black contrast stain that handsomely showcases the wind-swept flame grain on all sides of the bowl and birdseye across the rim, with an ornate band of sterling silver at the junction providing further visual flair.
