Poul Winsløw began his career in the pipe industry in 1967 as an assistant in the workshop of Preben Holm, a pioneer of the Danish Fancy style. Winsløw was soon Holm's chief assistant and went on to establish his own workshop in 1985. Today, he employs assistants of his own to produce fine pipes that range from wild Freehands to more traditional pieces. Winsløw's Crown series offers smokers lovely examples of the veteran carver's work, in a wide array of shapes and finishes, and at a more approachable price point. This Poker is one such piece, with a more reserved silhouette and a rich auburn finish.
