Winslow: Crown Smooth Bent Dublin (300) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-036-2442
This Dublin from Poul Winslow features somewhat traditional bowl shaping, at least compared to his other work, with a subtle flare to its walls and a sweeping fore, while the heel showcases a pronounced point oriented toward the aft side, giving this pipe some angular charm. The tall, thick-walled bowl is matched in proportion by the rather thick shank that extends from the wide transition, its short travel keeping the visual weight on the transition itself. The sleek saddle stem married to the shank adds a touch of sleekness to the aft, and its jet black acrylic offers a dark, complementary color to the stummel's vibrant smooth finish. The briar displays some handsome, tight bands of flame grain that flow from the rim to the heel across the flanks of the bowl, all dressed in one of the Danish carver's golden-orange stains.
