Winslow: Smooth Bent Dublin (B) (9mm) Tobacco Pipe

An excellent rendition from Poul Winslow, this bent Dublin puts the Danish pipe maker's many decades of devotion to the craft on full display. An organic piece, it offers a supple bowl flaring upwards from a pronounced heel, the swell closely following rising flame grain. Bespoke ridgelines on the transition amplify the cheeking often seen with Danish pipes, beginning a deft pinching of the shank that invites draping of a digit and supports easily indexed handholds. The smooth finish and chestnut stain show high contrast, while the plateau of the rim is stained darker to unify with an accent at the shank end. The stem is a tapered affair of amber-hued acrylic, and incorporates an organic twist to put a final punctuation mark on this pipe's unique nuances.
