Winslow: Smooth Bulldog (D) Tobacco Pipe

Poul Winslow's unique mix of gestural and muscular styling is on full display with this unique Bulldog. A slightly plump bowl wears a single beadline around its expanded waist, combining with the conical rim above to evoke the classic shape. The diamond-shaped shank I expect has been replaced here, however, with an octagonal variant, looking almost round in profile while providing additional structure to the design. A bright contrast stain and smooth finish dress handsome flame grain around the bowl, and a multicolored acrylic accent at the shank end further livens the overall aesthetic.
