Winslow: Smooth Bent Apple with Silver (D) Tobacco Pipe

Plump, pert, and softly rounded, this bent Apple from Poul Winslow is only just, with a very subtle downturn about its stem that offers a hint of elegance to the form. This stem ebbs out of a trim shank that, from the transition, is possessed of a subtle taper to the junction, the area marked by a broad band of silver followed by a trim fitment of amber acrylic. Underneath, this shank feeds into a sweeping heel whose arc continues through the fore of the bowl, working in concert with the tapered stem to create a handsome, consistent undercurve which accentuates the build of the bowl. Said bowl is a dream in the hand, its contours welcoming the fingers easily, and its surfaces providing ample space for the vibrant auburn contrast stain to reveal seas of birdseye on either flank.
