This bent Apple from Poul Winslow possesses a pert, rounded bowl that stands at the fore of a trim stretch of shank and stem. It's a fairly streamlined design, with sleek, minimalist lines comprising the shank and stem, keeping the composition fairly subdued in profile and allowing the bowl to hold most the visual weight. A ruby-tinged rustication dresses the stummel and provides plenty of delightful texture for the fingers to explore, save for the rim and a band of briar around the shank end, which are left smooth and stained a lighter color for contrast.
