Winslow: Crown Smooth Billiard (200) Tobacco Pipe

Danish pipe maker Poul Winslow boasts several decades of pipe-making experience, with this straight Billiard being a fine example of his work. A Freehand-like piece, the heel is demarcated from the remainder of the bowl with a wrapping ridgeline, while the base itself is rather convex. It's paired to a gradually tapering stretch of shank and stem that stretches out rather lengthily in back for a striking silhouette. It's dressed in a glossy contrast stain, highlighting handsome birdseye on either flank and cross grain at fore and aft.
