Winslow: Smooth Bent Dublin (B) Tobacco Pipe

A hybrid of sorts, this bent Dublin from Poul Winslow combines the height and cylindrical shaping of a Stack and the softly rounded rim, high waist and pointed heel spur of an Acorn. Offering an impressive chamber depth, the plateau-crowned bowl is paired to a high-kicking shank-and-stem arrangement, the latter gently turned downward for a comfortable jaw-hanging posture, if desired. This piece is wearing one of the Danish carver's bright contrast stains, showing off stunning, uninterrupted flame grain on all flanks, the tight-knit tendrils ascending delicately from the heel. It's all further commended by a slim, multi-colored accent ring at the shank end, resulting in a great-looking pipe that should provide easy, leisurely smoking sessions.
