Winslow: Smooth Bent Dublin (Private Collection) (9mm) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-036-2701
Poul Winslow began carving pipes in 1969 in the workshop of Preben Holm, one of Denmark's great exporters of the Fancy Freehand style. Over the decades, Winslow has maintained the Fancy style, developing his own unique version of the organic designs that characterize it. This bent Dublin is a fine example of that style, featuring a flat-heeled bowl with tapering walls and a broad, forward-ebbing rim of craggy plateau. Out back, a round shank curves upward to meet a vibrant acrylic stem in swirled amber and white hues. Dressed in a smooth natural finish, the stummel boasts excellent flame grain around the bowl, with a touch of birdseye at the heel.
