Winslow: Smooth Bent Dublin (B) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-036-2780
With a career spanning over five decades, Poul Winsløw has become one of Denmark's most prolific carvers, getting his start in the workshop of Preben Holm, one of the fathers of the Danish Fancy style of carving. It's this style that's gone on to influence his workmanship as the years have passed, combining with the more reserved elements of Danish classicism to foster a unique aesthetic. This signature style comprises pieces that are often large and imposing, with firm ridges and fluting channels poised alongside softly rounded contours and gently flowing lines. Winsløw's standard line of pipes reflect this style quite well, often through unique reinterpretations of shape-chart standards that draw heavily from Denmark's Fancy Freehand tradition. A wide variety of shapes and sizes mix with a bevy of inventive finishing styles to make this one of the most wonderfully diverse offerings on the market. Grades for this line range from "E" to "A," with this "B" graded Bent Dublin having been dressed in a vibrant contrast stain.
