Winslow: Crown Partially Rusticated Freehand (Viking) Tobacco Pipe

This Freehand from Poul Winslow is a fine example of the Danish artisan's rugged and organic style. Featuring a plump bowl at the fore of a muscular shank, the briar is partially wire-rusticated, creating a wealth of texture in conjunction with the carved grooves around the bowl. The rim is capped with craggy plateau, adding extra visual weight to the fore of the design. Out back, a bent acrylic saddle stem completes the ensemble, allowing for effortless clenching. Dressed in a warm auburn finish, the stummel displays fine streaks of flame grain around the bowl.
