Wojtek Pastuch: Sandblasted Belge Nosewarmer with Warthog Tusk (0904) Tobacco Pipe

Wojtek Pastuch has sent us several nosewarmer designs, yet this Belge is easily the most textured and organic of style. Considerably taller than the shank is long, the bowl rises up in a forward cant, imbued with a strong, floral aesthetic thanks to the craggy sandblast and uneven rim. It resembles a flower bud waiting to bloom, and the texture finish is signature Pastuch, the Polish carver having quickly proven himself as quite the adept sandblaster. Ripples of ring grain climb up the bowl, enhancing the pieces visual momentum and drawing further focus to the undulating orientation of the rim. Wojtek has kept the color palette clean with a natural stain, pairing well with the domed accent of warthog tusk. Said accent looks like a mount arrangement; however, it's actually fitted to the base of the stem, contrasting handsomely against the warm hues of the cumberland mouthpiece and of the same construction as that of this bent Pot.
