Wojtek Pastuch: Sandblasted Dublin (1325) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-811-0108

Known for his skillful craftsmanship and carefully rendered designs, Wojtek Pastuch is a talented Polish carver who crafts a wide range of unique shapes, from fairly traditional designs to more eccentric compositions, with this Dublin being something of a middle ground between the two ends of his shaping spectrum. Although it possesses the shape's characteristic bowl, complete with a conservative heel, flared walls, and a broad rim, the pipe, in its entirety, boasts a highly organic appearance, in part due to plateau that covers the rim and the extra-craggy sandblast that dresses the stummel. Said sandblast has deeply penetrated the briar and drawn out pronounced growth rings that frame the bowl's gradual expansion and subtle forward cant. Out back, the shape takes on a more streamlined appearance, with the shank-and-stem being incredibly slender and rather demure in comparison to the bowl, resulting in an almost Italian neoclassical silhouette. It's a striking and attractive design, one with a wealth of captivating texture and grain.
