Wolfgang Becker: Smooth Bent Apple with Boxwood (Double Wolf Paw) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-554-0008
Wolfgang Becker's signature aesthetic seems to merge classic Danish sensibilities with his own unique style of line and taper. Given Lars Ivarsson's strong influence on his work, it's not hard to find various Ivarsson-esque cues in his designs, yet, rather than strict imitation, he takes that inspiration and molds into something all his own.
Here that marriage of influences and creative liberty has resulted in a sweeping, seamless form from fore to bit, yet one that also features plenty of definition in way of transition, sporting a more subdued version of his signature "wesp" style of convergence. As a "Double Wolf Paw," it's one of his rarest and most prestigious offerings as well — the "Double Wolf Paw," in fact, was Wolfgang's highest designation until just this year when he created his very first "Signature".
It's been close to a year since we've seen pipes from Wolfgang, and all of those beautiful pieces sold immediately. These are sure to follow suit, so if you've ever wanted a briar from the German master, this is your chance — and the only one you're likely to get for a while.
