Wolfgang Becker: Smooth Assymetric Apple with Horn (Double Wolf Paw) Tobacco Pipe

Merging iconic Danish cues with his own idiosyncratic sense of shaping, Wolfgang Becker produces some truly marvelous, unique shape designs, of which this bent Apple is one. For those familiar, it's hard not to see the influence of Lars Ivarsson on his work, with an emphasis on comfortably organic, seamless shaping, often sporting longer, curling shanks exuding a wasp-waisted sense of shaping in profile. There's not as much of that cinched shaping here, though the emphasis on length is still present, carried out by way of a vertically compressed, lenticular form paired to a rounded, rather forward-inclined Apple bowl. Finished in a dark, vibrant contrast, Wolfgang opted to pair this one with a mount of creamy, multi-hued horn, lending this gorgeous Double Wolf Paw a look of naturalesque elegance.
